I'm so close to finishing the first pack and yet ... so far! Curse my daytime job and ailing woman! (Oops, mustn't curse those, doesn't seem long ago that I didn't have either!)
I'm amazed at how much things have had to be reworked. A bizarre occurrence is a difference in many of the files between 96dpi and 100 dpi - which isn't so bad with smaller rooms and objects but difference multiplies - - not to mention matching that up with the more recently 300DPI scans. My earlier scans and work was all prepared in Paint Shop Pro 8 (or "crash engine" as I like to think of it) but now I'm a GIMP 2.6 man. (I'd better be careful who I'd say it to). I think I'm going to have to have some free appendices to the main pack, for essential forgotten graphics, as the weeks progress, I'll suddenly remember something that all dungeons have, like pillars or doors ... d'oh. The good news is that there's lots of "objects" - I have a deal with Rusty Axe that I can still use all the art I prepared for the Dungeon Demon Printer Friendly Art Packs - some of it is practically drag n drop. Brain just broke. Fancy a sneak peak? screen_bb_08_2010.jpg And I wonder why I can't sleep at night ... (Apologies to people who've received this message twice on email notification because I like to re-edit and yet I still leave typos! ;) ) |

Almost free of my own dungeon ... soon ...
nearly there ... Three more pages, some text and decoration ... He looks like a charming fellow, a trader perhaps? He looks like me after going to Tesco's. |

this guy? That's Gnarl an adviser type character from the OverLord games, "An Object! oooh, I like Objects!" is one of the little catch phases he says when your minions pick up an important item in the game ok so, I'm spending today trying to get all the little tasks that need doing around the website done, what I'm going to do is move the posts starting with the one announcing the finished product to a new thread in the Dice and Accessories Section, what I need you to do is change the title of the moved post to something like “Inked Adventures Basic Pack – here at last!” That way we will be able to keep this thread for discussion and development and you'll have separate thread for the finished products, not only will this make the Inked Adventures stuff easier to find, but I'll also increase site traffic and thus help both Inked Adventures and The Lost and The Damned get more exposure ++UPDATE++ the new thread can be found here: http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n2.nabble.com/Re-WHQ-DnD-home-made-floor-plans-dungeon-tiles-td5425787.html#a5425787 you'll still need to edit the Title

Great stuff! so with the addition of some paper allow the doors to work like the archways in WHQ and hold the board sections together
I also need to work on my idea of attaching the doors to 30mm bases and cavalry bases and take some pictures BTW love the instructions page! yea sorry I left it too late to move it and the Crypt stuff was already linked to the post, so it had to be move with it

*General musings to self*
This is just crazy. I'm working on a pack at the moment, but the size on the page I'm using keeps diminishing. Am I worrying too much about different paper sizes (A4/Letter) and the random widths of printer margins? My working area is now down to about 6 inches by 9 in the middle of the page. In order to be really safe my graphics still need to be another half inch into that box, making my real printing area to be 5 inches by 8. Trees are dying! Rooms are having to be chopped in half - my art is compromised! Goddamn dots per inch and different programs! Sorry, just had to rant somewhere ... Perhaps I need to buy some proper software ... |

I'd ease up a little! sounds like your restricting yourself too much by worrying about the printer margins, your last pack printed just fine for me (my printer can be a pain the arse when it wants to) and I've never had any scaling or paper margin problems with any of your graphics.
I suggest putting in a short paragraph telling people to do a test-print of just 1 page, to make sure the margins and scaling are ok on their printer (you could even make a special test-print page to include in each pack) and vague advice on printer setup. Don't let your art suffer because a few people can't be bothered to setup their printers correctly

PS - work is nearing completion on a pack of thin-walled dungeon pieces I'm working on, but I may need to request a few new graphics from you so I can put in everything I want into the pack
