Into the Sewers

Here's a quick little adventure for HeroQuest I ran with a bunch of my friends last year.
It's a rescue mission set in a Skaven infested sewer complex, not the most imaginative plot or setting I know, but it was written at rather short notice and is a good side adventure to play.

Download PDF here: Sewer+adventure.pdf

The adventure was originally played using a sewer map that came with Dungeon magazine a few years back, but if you don't have that map then it's pretty easy to draw out your own sewer map on a Battle Mat.

^A Ranger (Jarick), Elf Mage (Katka) Dwarf (Mark) and Sorceress (Janni) come face to face with The Skaven

Let me know what you think, you may want to throw a few extra Skaven Warriors in for extra difficulty depending on how experienced your players are

You wouldn't happen to have a scan or pdf of that map in full size, would you? :O

Sadly no, I've tried scanning it in the past but it's over all size and the way it folds makes it very difficult to keep it aligned and flat on the scanner, as such this means it's nearly impossible to get the sections to match up again once scanned (I can of course only scan it one A4 sized chunk at a time)

If you wish to play this adventure, I'd recommend investing in an erasable Battle-Mat like those made by Chessex and Crystal Caste and draw out the dungeon onto that with erasable pens, these Battle-Mats and ones like them are a great purchase if you're just starting out playing dungeon games and can of course be used again and again for all different dungeons

If you're still determined to track down a copy of the original, it came with Dungeon Magazine 305 (March 2003)

This post was updated on .
Cool, thanks. I might have found a torrent for old Dragon Mags, in pdf. hopefully it's got the map in high res pdf :D

edit: just browsed through the issue, but didn't find any maps. It also wasn't mentioned in the index I think... There was mention of a poster and urban maps though, but I guess it wasn't scanned... shame.

This looks a fantastic board, has anyone come up with a scan of it yet? I have been searching ebay & amazon, no luck.

If Fenryz hasn't mailed it to you already, I'll post it soon. I'm thinking about retouching it in photoshop a bit. It's been scanned part for part and stuck together, so it has colour differences.

You might want to enhance the grid-lines a little too, they are rather faint on the original and I've found some players have problems seeing the grid

Re: Into the Sewers

Sure, I could mail everyone who wants a copy - would it be ok to link my email here ?

*Edit* We could start a skypegroup too - dont have to voicechat, just textchat - but its excellent for sending smaller files and pictures around.

The easiest way to do this is to email via the Forum

1 view the Member you want to eMail's profile by clicking on their Avatar in a post

2 on the left hand side you should find a link that says 'Send Email to [Member's Name]'

3 you can then email them via the forum, once they reply it will goto your normal email inbox and you'll have each other's email address so you can send attachments
