Now I have downloaded the file, how do I print it off on A4 sheets, full size, please.

I think Adobe Reader (the program that allows you to view and print PDFs) should sort out putting it onto A4 pages itself, although you will most probably need to trim the pages a little after printing to get them to all match up (due to printer margins)
if this turns out not to be the case I will look into this further

I did try to print the board, but just get an a4 of the complete board. As a Mr Green, can you lead me through the process please?

Ok no problem
First of all don't press the quick-print button, instead goto the 'File' menu and click 'Print...' Depending on what version of windows and version of Adobe Reader you have you'll get a window more or less like this: then what you need to do is find the 'Page Handling' settings and set 'Page Scaling' to 'Tile all pages' (circled in the picture) this will divide the image over several A4 Pages Finally press the [Ok] button to print

Since this post got a lot of attention recently I've gone back and read the adventure notes and realised they are a bit lacking in detail

Fenryz, did the place you got the PDF of the Town/Sewer poster-map have ones from other issues of Dragon
Dragon #297 had a really nice 2 sided Cavern and Dungeon poster-map which I used for a game at friend's house and left behind so he could use it for a game he was running, however I forgot about the map and by the time I got round to asking were it had ended up the room we used for gaming was being re-decorated and all the stuff had been moved into another room. We looked long and hard though all the stacks of rulebooks, ect but never found it again - I'd really like a copy of that poster-map. several other issues of Dragon and it's sister magazine Dungeon also had poster-maps and dungeon tiles in them that I'm sure many of us here would find useful Dragon #293 included a different Cavern Tiles poster-map Dragon #295 had a 'Stone Tower' poster-map Dragon #298 included an awesome spider themed 'Cave of Pain' poster-map with a clever system of subtle dots that mark the squares instead of grid lines Dragon #303 and Dungeon #96 included 2 poster maps of a gladiatorial arena and the chambers beneath Dragon #316 included a 'Mushroom Tangle' Dungeon-Tile other issues had some nice stuff like Trap Markers and Monster Tokens which can be very useful

I have Dragon magazine 293 in PDF with the cavern tiles.
Issue 295 didn't have any posters scanned in alas. But it does have an article with lots of Castle maps. #298 had no poster either. Lots of Drow reading though. #303 does have the Arena floor plan in 4 parts plus a map of the surroundings without squares (just a drawing of the area). Nothing in #316. #96 has a black and white 4 part map of a ship's upper and lower deck. I can make a PDF of those pages for you, but that'll have to wait untill tomorrow, or the weekend. Kinda late here now ;) I have all dragon mags in PDF, but not all had their posters scanned.

Looking over this now - I've decided I'll write the adventure up properly and post a new version

Hold on! This one looks pretty damn good to me, why not do a sequel? Here is the preamble I shall give my players "The Emporers Tax Collector, Mr Groat, has been dragged into the sewers by a band of giant rats. Your Emporer commands you to go down into the sewers, bring out Mr Groat, and kill as many rats as you can. The Emporer will reward you with 10 gold coins for every pair of rats ears you bring back"
When the Players cross the bridge towards room C I will tell them, "Tread carefully, the roof is very unstable in this part of the passage". Once they all pass the little junction to the right of the bridge, I shall say, "The roof behind you has collapsed, you must go forward". I shall place a double Blocked Passage tile here, to block the junction & the passage. When they all pass a point opposite Block A, the roof will fall again, ensuring that they cannot go back. They must jump, or board across the flowing sewer to get to the cell. Whats in the cell? Mr Groat, his dead body, just his robe? When they reach the Rat Ogres domain, and IF they manage to kill him, I will tell them there is a Secret Door leading to the Stairs Out, if they search. What shall I put in the two Treasure Chests? Be nice, some gold, or be Horrible, a trap?

One thing I like to do with chests unless I've got a specific treasure in mind is to have Heros draw 2-4 cards from the Treasure Deck, apply the effects of any Traps they trigger first, then any Wandering Monsters that have sneaked up on them and finally let them have the Treasure.
This can allow you to be a bit creative with chests too, if they draw a Trap, tell them the chest was trapped. A spike or arrow trap might indicate some kind of firing-mechanism built into the chest, a pit-trap might mean the floor infront of the chest gives way or maybe the chest itself is the pit and the Hero falls awkwardly into it when they open it - the lid could even even slam shut trapping the Hero inside until someone else frees them! If they draw a Wandering Monster maybe a small monster (like a Snotling, Spider or a Giant Rat) was hiding inside the Chest just waiting for your Heroes to open it! ... or maybe the Chest is the Monster! Replace the Chest with a shape-shifting creature like a Mimic!

Mon Dieu, thats a Serious Treasure Chest! I like your style. I have been working on the board this morning, made it into 8 tiles, roughly A4 size, lightly ran over the square-lines with a white pencil, brings them out nicely. Crafted the planks & cases. just about ready for battle.

Use thing like this sparingly, Chests that turn out to be monsters, Statues that come to life and Sofas that eat people are great fun, but you shouldn't include them in every adventure. In fact you only need to use them once and your players will be afraid of opening Chests, prying the Gems out of an Idol's eyes or sitting down for the next few games! sounds good I look forward to hearing how it all goes

oh! almost forgot!
the Wandering Monster for this adventure is Giant Rats ... Giant Rat
|
I think I will use a standard Skaven as WM. My players Heroes are pretty tough. I have given the skaven HQ Orcs stats. If the heroes get too cocky, I will ask them to roll D6 on WM, this soon calms them down.

Fair enough, although I'd recommend you use the Skaven stats given and if the adventure seems a little to easy double the number of Skaven in each room. The Skaven's Move of 12 makes them deadly in the confines of the paths around the water in the centre! also consider putting some kind of swimming monster in the water if you have an appropriate miniature (a crocodile, mutated fish, slime-beast or some such - maybe even a River Troll!) the swimming monster will of course be immune to the effects of the flowing water and can be given an extra dice in Defend due to being partly obscured by the water ^Heresy Miniatures HM020 'Sludge Gulper' - Painted by Graeme Rigg

Allright. Posted them. If you know of more maps in Dragon magazines, let me know. Don't have the time to browse through them all :P
