World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War ....GOOD READ!!

THEFAN
With all the zombie books, movie and now tabletop and tv series out.  I am finding myself wanting to play a zombie game.  I wonder if that is the commericial brainwashing going on to get me to spend a shit load of money on it.  HMMM...   I just picked this book up and it is not bad  World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, Max Brooks.  I like the read between the lines stuff and stories from around the world. not just in the US.  :)  Anyone else read this book???

It is indeed brilliant. it is written in such a convincing and natuaral style, with action and humanity on every page. i recomend it to anyone, even non geeks.

my only criticism is brooks often describes the countries response to the mass outbreak using stereotypes verging on rascism.... Americans use their vast manufactoring abilities to win the war, British people retreat to castles and forts, Russia uses religeous and social dogma, and so on.

however there are some genuinly eerie moments, some whoop out loud moments and some real food for thought. top stuff and TBH i wish id though to do the review first... nice pickup THEFAN!

First thank you .   Maybe it's just me but I really didn't pick up on the racism so much.  There were some racism moments like in India but I figured that Brooks was showing how society breaks down and the real side of humanity shows it's ugly side.  .   I think he was taking the now and mowing it thru a maasive tranisional monent to get to a one society of survival.  I thought he explained  why these changes were hard on some countries and easy on others.  Made me think about the current events in our world and wonder what would happen in out time if this really did  happen.  Deep think tank moment.  I might be taking these thoughts from one of those selfish, individual , arrigant, high horse, childish American views though.  :)  .

I am reading it again in between reading Tolkiens "The Silmarillion"  I never ready it and now I am going to.  Don THEFAN of a lot of things!!
