Eye eye shipmates, Hi Mortis,
I been looking at the Tyranid Attack Rule book you provided. It really is short, when compaired to Advance Space Crusade and even Space Crusade. Rule book for TA is 25 pages long ASC 60 pages. Its super cut down, for example it mensions that the game can be connceted to or linked with other game (OLD GW games) but dose not give any rules , connections, or convertion charts. I mean even ASC made an effort with the dreadnought and androde (UMMm... Nerons... mmm) at the back. ASC even game stats for Zoats :D. TA gave the zoat fluff but no Rules or stats / Data Cards for Zoats. Also another thing The hole point of TA seams to be a random maze... Eeek.. (I don't like mazes, even when I have coloured thread and a tourch.. A back exparince with a big Bull headed man once on a vogae I had in my younger days.) Back on point. Not to worry I have dulled the edge. I know ASC has that as well but ASC feels a lot more complete well it dose have move rules and batte options. AHQ gave you random mazes yes, but that game allowed the player to map the maze as they expored. Also AHQ had the HeroQuest rules and moster profiles. Granted there was a lot that was left out of AHQ i.e. a formular or chart/ table explaining how to convert the HQ stuff to AHQ but at least there was a good effort to make a game behind Advance Hero Quest. WHQ expanded and ajusted the AHQ system and blended HQ cards back in to the game. TA on the other hand did not have that kind of depth. What it does have though is an alternative way to play Lost Patroll see my post http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n2.nabble.com/Patrol-lost-lost-td6633633.html For the Lost Patroll rules. Anyway checking the ASC SC , WH40K 1st and 2nd ed's rules and Even Lost Patroll on a whim of fancy. I found that TA's Exploration Rule and board placement is the same same as LP even down to looseing the playing peaces , Miss Scarlot and Curnall Musterd.. Oh sorry wrong playing peaces . SC Scouts. What TA does do is give me a link to WH40k 2nd ed. |

Hi Everyone, I have been re readinding the TA rulebook and it dose have Renforcment profiles for Dreadnought and Android. I still could not find any playbale datacard stats for the Zoat though.
I will at some point check the Dreadnought and Android profiles to see if they match up with ASC and SC. On the extra rules front: There were 2 offical rule extentions for Tyranid Attack which were in White Dwarf 159 and 162. WD 159 had Rules for Eldar in Tyranid Attack with cards and profile Force list. So you could play as well Eldar suppringly in stead of the SM Scouts. Problly cos they were lost on the Space Hulks by that time. The same issue also has SM scout and Eldar scout profiles for WH40k 1st ed. Pluss it also had an Advanced HeroQuest adventure as well. Here is a link to my Media fire page for the TA Eladar rules: http://www.mediafire.com/?596x41w1pdp3iud I also Have the rules form WD 162 - TA Dreadnought rules and profiles. Which I can put up as well. It will take me a few days to type up the rules . You will understand once you all see the condition of the source matairal I have been working from. Here it is: White_Dwarf__162.pdf If anyone can read the rules with out needing to squint or use sayy... The Hubble Telescope. Then you have better vision than me or a hawk . I have been able to transcribe the pages and was going to scan my notes and post them. In order for you all to read. I scanned in the 1st and 2nd pages and my notes looked messy on screen. I will type up what I have been able to decode. It will probly take me a few days or so. Is there a prefered document type that every like to use? I was thinking of typing the notes up as a .doc file (2003 format), or .txt Let me know if there are any other file types you would like me to use. Enjoy the Space Panto this year... Where are they? ... [Voice of the Misterons echos through the intercom] The blipps are behide you.... The space Marien Turns 180 degrees.. I can't see them.... Darn "£%***(&" Now I can't take an acction for a whole hour. Mean While The Tranids had come com home from a hard days work at the office and had just dryed its claws off and was reaching for the Tin Opener when the lights flickered ... Looks like dinners arived .... mmmm SM on toast. |

Here's a PDF of Tyranid Attack: Dreadnoughts, which was originally published in WD162. It contain rules for Space Marine, Chaos, Ork and Eldar Dreadnoughts and also Screamer Killers which are billed as being Tyranid Dreadnought equivalents (which they are in way).
Tyranid_Attack_-_Dreadnoughts.PDF Enjoy!

Hello Shipmates,
Mortis you are Amazing. You found the old issues I had, and what is more they are both clear copies. Thank you very Much I have downloaded myself your .pdfs for my collection. I can read WD162 TA Dreadnought section now ...wooow. Thats what the blurry mess means. I have finished my typing up of the WD162 TA Dreadnought rules like I promised I would, here is my .doc file: Tyranid_Attack_Rules_Update_from_White_Dwarf_Issue_162.doc This is to be used with the blurry pdf copy of WD162 I uploaded in the earller post. Enjoy reading the rules I have typed up, hopefully it may help someone. Now that Mortis has kindly pdf'ed his clear copy of WD162 and WD 159 TA rules. It would be better to use the clear scans. |
Hey there, sorry for necroing this, but since there is a thread for TA and ASC already...
I've seen a fan made Eldar force list for ASC. Would anyone happen to have a link to one other than Scribd? |
Wellmet Kalrath, and hello to all others ,
It was good to read your reply interest thanks for finding this post . Now onto you r question about finding the home made rules for Eldar in Advanced Space Crusade. The only source I was able to find on my voyages on the ocean web. Were links back to the scribd document you yourself mentioned. I have been able to glean the information form all the pages and have compiled them into Microsoft 2010 .docx document . Advanced_Space_Crusade_Eldar_HomeMade.docx along with .jpeg of the force lists on page 11 , 12, 13 and 14. 11.jpg ,12.jpg ,13.jpg ,14.jpg Yes yes I know the pictures are a bad quality (scribd use some kind of page and document braking technologies). If you print the pictures 11 -14 out on paper and then squint a bit or use a magnifying glass most of the text on the Eldar force list pages are readable. There are some words that are spelt incorrectly, but the over all effect is good. I like how the person who composed the document used the same style and format for the Eldar and their weapons and ability notes. As those found in the ASC rulebook. Make sure you read the .docx file as the has all the text form the scribd document laid out . The page numbers refer to the pages the text was on scribd document site. Note The only thing I did not put into the .docx file were the pictures and the forces tables found on those pages. The text is as found on the pages. I hope you find the document and pictures helpful and enjoyable. Note: Once you read through the document the only page you need to print out is page 3 as it has the table and text from page 3 and 14 of the scribd document and page 12. Then just print out the force list pictures 11 -14 . The boxes on the picture page contain text that is found on page 3 of the .docx file. I hope that all makes sense. Also make sure you read the ASC rulebook pdf form my earlier post see the link Mortis linked to at the top of this page. As the Home made Eldar rules refer to the rule book in regards to Hero actions. Have fun and let me know how you find the elder rules. Untill next time enjoy your adventures and perusals missions on the high space ways. Captin Kabeered shoving off again . |

Hi I've got the game advanced space crusade and have played it for years but I thought I'd give tyranid attack a go, so I've down load your rules from on here, but I need the cards do you have them on here so I can make them my self.
Thanks olly. |
Hello Olly, It is good to see you on these pages. To help you find the Tyranid Attack cards witch you seek I point you to:
http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n2.nabble.com/Printable-TYRANID-ATTACK-Request-td7580323.html On that page Kaal979 asks for and answers the same thing as you have. In his 3rd post is a link to a file page: http://depositfiles.com/files/ozruw660e I have put the link above these words for you. Please Note that the file name on the page is : DoomOfTheEldar.rar and the file size is : 25.34 MB. The .rar files commence is in fact the pages you want for Tyranid Attack game and not for Doom Of The Eldar wich by the way is a completely different old game that GW used to make many, many moons ago. When you want to download the file click on the regular download button this will then allow you save the file to your unseal download location on your computer or electronic device. Once opened the .jpg page you will want to print are: cards-exploration-1.jpg times printed x1 cards-exploration-2.jpg times printed x1 cards-exploration-3.lpg times printed x2 cards-orders.jpg times printed x1 Total cards 20 16 exploration front picture back discription text 04 order front picture back discription text. The other pages you may like to print out is 018.jpg and 019.jpg These were orginaly from an old issue of WD 145 The Blue SpaceCrusade and Heroquest issuse. The pages are for use in Advanced Space Crusade your game. The same bord sections can also beused with Tyranid Attack. I hope the links and post details will help you enjoy playing Tyrind Attck. Please post your thoughts on the game as its always good to read how other people get on with there games and adventures. P.S. The wording on some of the cards is slightly different e.g. Order card Fall Back is the Retirement order card, on card-oders.jpg Untill next time enjoy your space adventures, Captin Kabeered shoving off. |

Hello Olly7,
It has been a long time, I am here to give you and others a way to open .zip files on your i devices, which is to use the free program 'app' application called : ZipApp Free . Check out this post I made about opening zipped folders for portable devices. http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n2.nabble.com/Old-Warhammer-Bits-td7579929.html#a7582145 On the post I listed a few different programs / applications that are able to open different types of zipped files or folders.
