So since last Thursday I have been mulling over the concept of making rules for tau in space crusade and brodening the range of nids further than the good old genestealer-warrior combination.
Here are some Ideas Tau Fire warrior-6 squares Armour- 2W Combat-1W Fire warrior Sargent (shas'el or whatever!)-6 Squares Armour-2W Combat-2W Gun Drone-4 squares Armour-1W Combat------ (1/2? Pulse Carbine(s)) Shield Drone-4 Squares Armour-2W 1R Combat---------- Shield- All models in base contact with the Shield drone add 1 red weapons dice to their armour value Weapons Pulse rifle (standard)- 3W Pulse carbine (one FW may swap out PR for a PC (does not count as heavy weapon))- 1W 1R Burst cannon(heavy)-3W 1R Flamer(rng 6/10? squares hits all in template(heavy))-1W 2R Portable missile pod(heavy(awesome template of doom!!!))-2R 2W Equipment Bonding Knife- +1W (C) Drone controller-may take one gun or shield drone Shield generator-+1W (A) Order cards Fire- All models may shoot twice and move this turn Onward for the greater good- All models may move twice this turn and fire Shielded by truth- all models gain +1W(A) this turn Tactical retreat- all models may shoot-move-shot this turn photon grenades-as norm melta bombs-as norm edit this should make the Tau rules more validated. I worked the weapons from the tau codex and think they are pretty close. looking foward for our game tomorow. -][- Dreamer

My german is rusty but its good enough to translate these.
Marchtempo/ziehen is movement. Nahkampf is close combat Feuern is shooting Panzerung is armour value I can translate the rest if need be but its not really needed. Where did you find these? |
Great thread guys, I have been meaning to post a similar thread since the weekend regarding Khorne Berzerkers, but I don't want to hijack yours.

Board game geek forum so i don't know if they are official or someone else's idea In the game I played on Saturday with Mort and Rob when you shot with a rocket launcher every model in base contact is damaged so if that's a sort of template yes. What do you guys think of the rules will we be able to use them in games if Vox brings his Tau army with him? -][- Dreamer

Sorry I've taken so long to get round to posting on this thread ... right now
good rules ideas you've got here in need of only a few minor tweaks .... I've changed my mind since I talk to you in person about the shield drone rules, my new thinking is that it should give friendly troops in surrounding squares a +1 bonus to their Armour Value other than that, I'd like to check over the weapon stats against the Tau Codex and you are also going to need a few more order cards so far pretty good!

The Tau rules are undergoing a long term overhaul (and we don't have any minis for them), don't expect to see them in play any time soon

Hehe, we do keep talking about having missions of only one type of enemy, too.
I think me and Mort have worked out Chaos Cultists for a chaos game, based on a half-way mix between Orks and Grots. The rest.. Pretty easy to plan.

sorry but what game is this a stat-line for? Space Crusade stats look like this: Movement: 6 (number) Armour Value: 2 (number) Shooting: 2 White Dice (which dice to roll expressed in White Dice and Red Dice) Hand-to-Hand: 2 White Dice (which dice to roll expressed in White Dice and Red Dice) Life Points 1 (number) The above profile is for a Space Marine with a bolter as it appears in the original game - White Dice and Red Dice can be shortened to WD and RD if you like Shooting should never have a number (such as +1) as a modifier as it would mean the shooter would never miss (if you want to give more chance of hitting use a re-roll) I think you need to play the game and study the rules a little closer before you start writing new rules
