Skaven Assassin, New Stairs and a Rat

Here's a Skaven Assassin I made a little while back, but have only recently got round to taking a picture of. It's a simple, but I think rather nice conversion using an AHQ Skaven Warrior model, fighting claws from a Mordheim Skaven and a spare blade which I think came from a Zombie.
The 'sitting up' Rat is from Reaper's BONES range of plastic miniatures and the rather awesome new stairs they are standing on are a resin piece made by my friend Dungeon Master Mark (Mark Wells)

I made 2 minor alterations to the stairs before painting them - first of all I trimmed away the far ends of the banisters so that the stairs would fit neatly across 3 of my MK3DD dungeon tiles, I also used some thin card to replicate the texture of the MK3DD floor tiles on the top of the stairs.

The new stairs piece has brought about a need to create some raised floor sections for my dungeons which will allow me to create multilevel dungeons and should lead to some very interesting layouts in future

Nice! I like the look of those oldschool AHQ skaven. I recently got an overcomplete copy of AHQ myself for my birthday. I just (nearly) finished a batch of 20 new GW Skaven clanrats, and those are nice, but the classic ones feel more HeroQuest like.

Excellent conversion job. Especially the shield arm.

Love the Resin Model dungeon piece. Looks lie a great piece for an epic stair fight!
