Robots

Scumdog47
I was flipping through my ol' WD 104.

The cover alone kicks ass. Order of the Wolf of Hawkmoon fame. :)

But then there's the article on Robots for 40K.
The programming rules blew my mind.

Do any of you have any of the old minis left? I just have the body of one somewhere in my bits box, unpainted and all.
The minis were decidedly cool and I wish I had had the economy too keep mine but I had to sell them off during a particularly impoverished period of my life.

Also: Do any of you still use them in 40K and if so how'd you adapt the rules?

all I have of the RT robots is a right arm with a Bolter (maybe between a few of us we'll have 1 robot)

As for the rules, yea wow, they are complicated and I'd imagine they really slow down the game. To use them in modern 40k I'd use the stats of a Necron Immortal (they're about the same size) and  give with whatever weapons the model has, plus targeters and don't use the Necron regeneration rule. Larger robots can be fielded as Dreadnoughts I guess ...

Ah the good ol' robot rules. I was writing a modified version for use with Inquisitor for programing for servators and other robot type characters that really shouldn't be under full player control.

I'm afraid I've not got any of the old robots.

All i have is an unpainted Colossus-class. No arms, no weapons.

Maybe I should take a peek into my bits-box and see what I can scratch build.

Also, I wish I had one of those robots you could see in some pictures in the 40K:TR book. They looked generic and awesome.

Oh, by the way, yeah, robots should be perfect for Inqusitor Retinues and such.

Incorruptible as can be and killing power to match.

And it's an excuse to have an AdMech handler for the 'bot.

I imagine the Legio Cyberneticus are a branch of Adeptus Mechanicus rather than Adeptus Terra as it says in WD 104.

I'm thinking an AdMech with robes in other colour than red.

Hmm... if I was a better painted I'd make it green with a cirquit-board pattern

Yeah, Blood Slaughterer isn't that cool a name.

Sounds like a basement Death Metal band made up from 14 y/o kids.

Forge World has released a new version of the Blood Slaughterer.

The name remains silly but the mini is neat.

Yeah.

FW makes awesome stuff but the prices are through the roof.

Is it the resin that brings the cost up or what?
