WHATS THE MODEL?Epic Scale Thunderbolt (I.E. Aeronautica Imperialis)
PRICE?£12
WHATS THE THINKING THEN?our group have been yawping about AI for ages and I have now finally managed to get hold of some models. the reasoning behind it is this...
we decided to have completely different armies to our normal ones to make a bit of a change. however one of our group who is a propper twat said "No, im doing the same as my army", and another bloke, an eldar player, decided to do Orks (which turns out wasa latent yearning to go back to the greenskins full time- yes he now has Orks) and the Sm player would not even countenance reading the rules so my original plan of going chaos was re-thought- if we are all having the same as our armies then why not have the same, then we can tie in to future campaings etc?
so i nixed the Helblades and Helltalons and got two thunderbolts.
my initial thought was how big they were. i nevr really played epic and to be honest i was under the impression they would be smaller. the thunderbolts also have a nice level of detail and are assembled in 6 parts (body, engines, wings, nose)
alsoincluded are normal flying bases for epic games an the ever clever AI base itself.
6 GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS MODEL:1. bigger than i thought (feared)
2. thunderbolt in any scale looks chunky and mean
3. not all in one huge hunk 'o' resin so a bit of brains and modeling skill needed
4. cheap at the price i guess- not a major investment that may or may not be wasted
5. AI bases are cool
6. includes flying bases and differing hight plastic stands
6 SHIT THINGS ABOUT THIS MODEL1. precision painting may well make my head explode Scanners style
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
LONG STORY SHORT...its a nice brace of models and even if you dont fancy A.I then its worth grabbing a couple of ANY planes for your army and painting them up. even as a display piece. and I assume tho don't quote me the remora Tau drones would make nice gun drones in 40k scale- this is to be confirmed
WORD.
