I'd need a little more information to narrow it down exactly but ...

In the early 90's you most likely be playing 4th edition which came out around 1992

The Screaming Skull Catapult was in service from 3rd up to 5th edition

Were you skeleton chariots plastic or metal?

Do you remember what any of the rule books looked like?

well... the skelebobs were plastic and came in a huge box with 10 archers, 10 cavalry, a chariot and a lot of skelebobs.

its either third or fourth then... for deffo. i was a first year in 1989 so 92 would have been about right... i will see if i can find pdfs of the oop editions now i know where to look x

The main rules for 3rd were all together in 1 large thick book, while 4th edition came in a 'boxed game' set with plastic miniatures and 3 separate books

Yea that looks like the box, excellent set!
They later made the different skeleton sprues from the box available in separate little boxes for £5 each which were great for army building.

indeed. my very first GW purchase was the 20 man (or un man?) box and some glue.

and of course as i know now that i didnt know then... nice bit 'o' mr blanche on the box...

the regiment box cant have been that expensive cos in them days i didnt have a pot to piss in. i remember buying 12 ghouls in three blisters for about 12 quid...

Third Edition.

Just a few months before RoC was released.
