Printing WHQ Floor tiles...advice?

yazston
Ok, so I have the Compendium Vol2, and would like to use some of the rooms from the White Dwarf articles, but I'm not sure what the best method would be to print them out so that they function like the base game tiles, and are somewhat durable...does anyone have any tips?  Are there any resources that people use to print them, or people that do it for a fee? (assuming they end up looking/feeling professional)

Hi Yazston

I recently printed a lot of WHQ tiles from that compendium. I have a simple Kodak inc jet printer. I printed onto cheap 160gsm gloss A4 size photo paper and then glued onto heavy card that I got off E-bay that matches the thickness of the real floor tiles I have (you can also use the card from ring binder files). I used a cheap glue stick. When this was dry, I gave it a coat of gloss varnish over the printed side for durability. I am pleased with the results as you can barely notice that they are not original. It has cost me about £30 to print/make all the tiles from the WD extras plus the two expansions.

Hello! I use a color laser printer and print them off on laser labels and then mount them on matte board. That way I dont have to worry about warping and the toner gives the tiles a slight waterproofing. I've also seen it done successfully with ink jet printers and chipboard (thickness of cereal boxes) and what Stormboy suggested is a good method also.  It just depends on how thick you want them and what you have access to.
