Possible last of the codexs

MarkRG
Hi Guys
I went to GW in, buying some new novels from the Horus hersey series.
I was asking about the codex's and how to get them cheaper. £30 each hardback.
I said that the expensive codex's are killing the hobby for me as they are far too expensive as I have over 10 Armies.
His reply was after the usual bs on how nice the the codex's are,  you can get the softback codex's for £25. Still too expensive. I asked why would I want to buy these codex's when you are changing them every 2-4 years. I've been collecting since 2nd ed. He then told me that as the latest game is so balanced that it will not be changing in 4 years time.
I find this hard to believe so have any of you heard of the same rumor?

As I'm in a love hate thing with GW I ended up buying the latest starter set with the Tyranids at £75 for my birthday from my wife. Now I have to wait until my birthday before my wife will let me open it.
Happy gaming guys. Mark

Every new edition I hear the claim that this will be the last one need because the game is now perfect

I also hear that much more like 2nd edition than it was before each time too

I've been done with 40k and GW for a long time now

I feel your pain Mark - the GW marketing engine is a powerful drug and can make the withdrawal symptoms difficult to deal with.
Trust me though, as Mortis can confirm, there is life after the codex !

By freeing yourself from the GW yolk, you won't lose anything other than being allowed to play in "official" events - if you can live without that, go for it
