PROJECT: landspeeder storm buggy conversion

this is very much a work in progress... VERY MUCH a work in progress.....

mostly the conversion was easy peasy... Iv kept the chassis and upper separate. the chassis was made from two IG plow mounts back to back, with scout bike wheels.

it also includes several bits from the storm kit.

the upper body is mostly the landspeeder stomkit, but with nasty foamcore over the back opening and land raider door/valkyrie bits stuck on.

the rear bumper is part of the winch system with missile launcher scanners as rear lights.

iv made the concious descision to have the wheels sat under the chassis like a unimog rather than having the cabin sit INSIDE the wheels like a dune buggy.

more to follow...

Looking great so far dude!
If you haven't glued the wheels on yet, I'd suggest swapping them out for some slightly larger ones. The late 90's Ork War Buggy's back wheels would be ideal as they just like the bike wheels you are using but larger.

thanks man.

i plan to use it as a Centaur carrier. which is:

fast, open topped, transport 5

11,10,10

heavy stubber

i rekon if i drop a four man HQ squad in with with meltaguns and use the creed scout rule i could have four twin linked meltas right down their fucking chimney end of turn one.

more photos soon

updated pictures.....

the heavy stubber is removable. the model is really comming along. iv added the four small running lights on the bonnet and a large extra spot light by the drivers side.

im really tempted to put  second HS on the ril but the Centaur cannot have one so maybe i wont.

im still not happy with the rear but i will live.

Very nice take on a classic conversion. Of course if the crew is in power armour you wont have to count it as open topped, though of course it being open topped does allow all the occupants to fire so would probably be an interesting idea.

just to ammend- the louvered bits directly over the front wheels i see as the normal front lights... the two bumper spots are add-ons by the motorpool.
