They call it The Fist... its crew hand picked- each one just this side of crazy. reactive armor was mounted on the front glacis plate, and huge steel and ceramic plates were latched to the flanks. the cuppola was protected by mesh armour plates and two huge magazine fed smoke cannister launchers provide protection when in the open.
the plow at the front clears mines and minor debris with ease, and even large anti-tank devices explode safely under the extened re-enforced cowl.you know when you do a conversion and there is that moment when you think "oh no, iv fucked it"?
i came close with this.
first off, the Forge World mineplow is fucking shit. the plow itself it pretty good, but the mounting arms are rubbish. second, the side plate are inspired by the forgeworld side armour, but of my own design. they use trainset panels finished with textured plasticard for the "ceramic/reactive" armour.
the cage around the cuploa is a series of filter vents from an LCD projector bulb. I particularly like the shield over the drivers hatch.
the smoke launchers on the turret are from the minplow kit, but i prefered them there instead of mounted on the dozer arms.
the cuppola is from the OLD leman russ.... i thought it looked a bit extra armoured and secure.
as ever, what do you queers think?
