Land Drill

I have been toying with getting a Hades Breaching Drill for a while, but when I saw this for £9 from the Dystopian Wars range I realised its virtually the same size, is obviously doing the same job so is WYSIWYG, and is a third cheaper.

I dont normally do proxies and 3rd party models, as I prefer everything to have a uniform look, but despite having no skulls, aquillas or winged aquilla skulls this mosel does sort of look Imperial.

I have not done anything fancy with it- it is a very simple, basic model. plenty of layed drybrushing and some inks.

for some reason the model looks much cleaner in these pics... in person it looks much dirtier and grubby... and the earth looks more brown and less yellow...

This model benefits from an excellent use of your worn metal painting technique, I imagine it wouldn't be too hard for you to add some imperial paraphernalia to this model from your bits box too.

well, its not so much an "alternative" as... i saw it at a ma-hooos-ive geek show and thought it looked kind of alright, and the drill bits reminded me of the Hades... im not overly keen on the FW hades, simply because it is a bit too Krieg looking, and not very "cadian".

also, I found this difficult to do too much with as there are not many flat surfaces for decals, and if you stick bits to it it will ruin its streamlining. But i am well pleased with it and am glad you are too!
