here is another slightly older model re done, but with a WHOLE load of upgrades. thanks to the Destroyer tank hunter kit i have a "spare" turret from the standard Leman russ kit. this gives me all the main varients on one tank:

eradicator- good for low toughness low armour troops in cover

punisher- good for brassing cunts up with Heavy 20 Str 5

Vanquisher- good against tanks (but not THAT good)

battle cannon- nice against MEQ's

Executioner- plasma kickassery

Demolisher- fist of god

exterminator- good against orks

i also have three heavy bolters, one las cannon and two multi-meltas. i cant really see a future where i need two heavy flamers on a Leman Russ for 20 points...

also using the other kit i could make all four of the main "standard" varients for the Leman Russ:

EDIT- just noticed the hull numbers on the LR turret are wonky grrrrrr

as a couple of extra points now i have thought of them... the executioner is always shown with a brass/bronze section around the gas ports on the barrel. i did mine the same but weirdly it fails to contrast with the "349th orange" and gets a little lost. not sure what colour i should have gone for to make it stand out but still look like a solid mass of metal.

also just noticed i forgot to drop the "mantle" over the base of the battle canon, vanquisher, demolisher and exectioner barrels. i will put a picture up later to show what i mean.

Excellent!

Great way to make use of all the different guns from the Leman Russ kit and add a very versatile model to your army (I can bet GW arn't keen on people doing this!)
how easily do the guns swap over? is this 1 turret to which all the guns fit or do you have a different turret made up with each gun fitted?

(sorry about the late reply, as you probably know I'm very ill at the moment)

they actually promote it as a feature, which is nice. all the new IG kits are this versatile. the demolisher varients literally slot in, but the LR ones are more complicated. the trick is not to glue the upper turret to the lower. it slots together by friction ok, and all the different weapons can be fitted. the vanquisher and battle cannon are just different ends to the barrel.

you can do the same kind of thing with the hellhound varients too- but not as well as the leman russ ones...
