New Hellhound model
this hellhound is configured as a flame tank, with a multimelta inboard. that makes it highly effective in both armour and infantry supression. It is a very standard vehicle except for a 5 pronged cutter mounted to the front underside... this may have been to counter the Ork tactic of letting a vehicle roll over them and placing a shaped charge on the underside. also a custom tank level readout has been fitted to the right hand side, also incorporating a hazardous fume outlet. as the special chemical based ammunition used by Hellhounds became rare, a much simpler but more volatile mix of promethium and a dissolved polystyrene was used, which often needed a venting system.
this is the third vehicle in its squadron, and it has been well looked after by its crew. the "four arrows" device is not linked to service with the Space Marines but is instead a battle honour several vehicles in the AF(R) carry, commemorating their brave breakout from encirclement during the battle with Muldis Snaggletoof's warband.
this is an awesome model, with a brilliant fit and lot of bitz. i added a few mods here and there to make it "mine" but apart from that, as a kit, top stuff. the cutter is from the very VERY old school imperial armour accessories sprue, the flag is from a scout bike. the gauges are from the plasma cannon fitted to the sentinel kit
