this project follows on from this thread

The assault on the Ork town was going well. Volta's elements on the right had occupied a large steel frame structure that was probably the bones of a Imperial factory from centuries past. They were pouring fire on pockets of resistance within the settlement. Van Xur was in his Chimera with several others on the left, cutting off escape routes and using he heavy weapons to pepper the buildings and shacks.
In the centre however Biakal's main force were pinned by the sheer volume of rokkit and zzap fire before them. Volta could not quite bring his fire on to the Main Line of Resistance on the edge of the Ork town.

Biakal was considering bringing up the Boarhound to smash through the line when a hail of fire came from over his head and the roar of a tank engine shookthe earth. Tank Commissar Knock had took it upon himself to join the battle, and at a very useful time...

this is a very old russ... in fact it is my very FIRST leman russ tank.

i stripped it down to the bare bones, re-sprayed it after fitting some side panels to hide the missing doors (it used to have sponsons) and bought it  a brand  new FW turret. im pretty happy with it. im VERY happy with the turret guy... he is the hellhound commander cut down to fit the old skool russ turret.

enjoy.

Very nice, the hellhound commander does make a good commissar. The paintjob looks pretty good overall, I'd say the tracks were rather to clean but a bit of light weathering would be the only thing I'd recommend really.

well, I am not a fan of Commissars in the normal IG codex... they are over priced for what they do. but in the Armoured Company list uses a commissar tank in the HQ slot. i sort of faniced a change with my tanks so instead of rebooting the old russ as another standard vehicle, i went black. and never looked back.

Looking awesome dude!
Nice use of those rail-bridge panels on the sides and the commander looks great

Great stuff (and intro) as always!
I have a sort of "devotion" to my first miniatures, so I can understand what does it mean the fact that this is your first Leman Russ!
It's always a good thing "resurrect" and improve old miniatures!
