Persephone sat with its engine running and enemy fire flying all about it. The command squad were taking cover behind it, firing sporadically. Rondo stood by the driver and gunner as they frantically tried to re-seat the right hand track. Everard Punch was helpfully holding up the whole side of the tank off the ground while pumping the trigger of his ripper gun in the general direction of the heaviest incomming but it was still going slowly. Persephone herself was having a great time, her turret auto cannon moving left and right, straffing enemy positions with no operator at the controls.
Rondo slammed his fist on the hull next to him
"P, smoke. NOW... all of it"
the two huge smoke pods popped off, all 8 cannisters. the fire from his tank and men lessened and he could hear himself think. First off he got Everard to drag the tank a few meters away from the road in to some light ruins... it night be sat in thick smoke but plenty of enemy guns were sighted on it next he jumped into the turret cuppola and grabbed the radio handset. As he brought it to his lips the tank shifted and he yelled down to Everard.
"I am most sorry Sir " came a soft, metallic voice "but i will have this fixed very soon"
Matias the techpriest had come unannounced and was now gently feeding the tracks on to the wheels as Punch held the entire side of the vehicle off the ground. Gentle prayers came from Matias' voice box as his strong hands ran themselves over the wheels and tracks... Rondo was sure Persephone was purring!
later, as Rondo loaded his men aboard the Chimera now ready to move off the smoke from his cannisters was thinning. He turned and watched the red robed figure slowly move off into the ruins with nothing but a soft metallic goodbye to Persephone... other machine spirts were suffering and Matias was needed elsewhere...i have had this model for absolutley Ages and have lost the servo arms. but i dont really mind as they were a bit spindly and i didnt like them so meh who cares? the reason I have done it now is that at lenton on Friday some kid showned me his, that was a real mess of a thing. never one to turn down a challenge i stepped up!
iv just noticed a few areas that need a touchup...
