There's been a Necromunda revival going on at THW recently, a quite a few people have been buying packs of Mantic's packs of Hasslefree 'Girls with Guns' ect, older gamers are bringing out their old Necromunda gangs and every other person seems to own a bunch of Heresy's Trench Coat Gangers.
Having seen a few too many games where people had borrowed road sections from the Flames of War tables to prop between the 40k buildings, I decided it was high time I built some Necromunda Walkways for the store's terrain collection
The Walkways are made from all sort of scraps I had lying around from other sci-fi terrain projects, they mostly consist of the remains of some badly build Cities of Death terrain some one donated, which I stripped down for parts and damaged bits of Necromunda Bulkheads which we had lying round. I also used spare bases, bits of movement trays, empty sprues and a few vehicle parts from the store's bits boxes. I think they really capture the feeling of constant decay and repair the Underhive structures must go though as parts of the city collapse and others are re-built.
Painting was quick and simple, spray black undercoat, followed by a sprayed base coat of whatever colour I had to hand that looked industrial followed by several dry-brushings of Tin Bitz, Boltgun Metal and Dwarf Bronze. I then went back and added a few details like repainting a bit of modular movement tray I used on one piece to look like a panel from Portal - I like to include little jokes and geek-references in all my projects!

putting a few of the walkways between some of the existing 40k terrain makes for an instant claustrophobic Undercity territory just waiting for gangs to fight over it!

The walkways are also great for adding bridges and catwalks to a City Fight setup
