NEW THEORY

bujinkan
Hey, I'm playing Necromunda with my son and he reckons I can use the Space Crusade Dreadnoughts to represent some kind of Eldar technology (for use with the Eldar Attack figures). I kind of see what he means in terms of design and so just wanted to ask if it sounds ridiculous to you guys that those Dreadnoughts are some lost technology in the bowels of a Necromunda hive that represents an ancient coupling of wraithbone technology with Imperium weaponry (i.e. halfway between wraithguard and wraithlord)...

While you are of course welcome to use any miniatures you own in anyway you seen fit in your games, personally I don't think it works.

I've noticed that many people these days don't seem to realise the SC Dreadnoughts belong to the forces of Chaos and their design evolved from the Rogue Trader era Dreadnoughts (with more that a little influence from Ed209)

Very good point. Another influence was THE TERMINATOR's hunter killers. But, if you look at the HR Giger head and War Walker legs, couldn't one make a case for it coincidentally having an Eldar look?

Re: NEW THEORY

Sirenix
I didn't like the necrons being "androids" in space crusade so I bought a few Tau and made them androids, plus with their selection of other droids it plays well in SC i think. better then an undead looking android IMO. any model can be modded to work with any other race with enough practice. Heck I got Orc Tyranids... (genetic mutations for the cult).

If you dont follow the Machine Spirit lore from 40k, you could even consider it captured tech. An idea for moding the SC dreadnaught could be cut the knees and arms above and below each joint and adding a section of dial rod between each joint. Course that would make it permanently a Eldar Dread, or make it removable like ive done with my entire Tyranid force interchangeable weapons.

The chaos androids also appeared in the free white dwarf game warmaster. Androids possessed by demons , who were none to happy at being in androids.
