Inquisitor 28mm

Seems like most people are playing inquisitor in 28mm now, would anyone else here be more tempted to try out inquisitor if I were to run the games using 28mm figures rather than 54mm?

I've got to say that the 54mm scale was what put me off Inquisitor, as I like to be able to use my miniatures in as many games as possible and it would encourage me to finish miniatures I've already brought rather than buy new ones!

54mm models are what put me of Inquisitor (£18 fricking quid for a bleeding model).  So go for it I have a inquisitor+retinue all pointed and made for about a year and I'll get to use them!!

i'll provide Devils Advocate here... i found the larger scale minis encouraged people to put more time and effort into the miniatures and the characters... plus it discouraged people from bringing whole marine warbands etc

Ok well if both Mortis and Dreamer are up for playing Inq then we've got enough players.

Personally I'd rather play 54mm, yeah its more pricey but in reality you need one £18 mini to play, which is cheaper than collecting an army or warband for most games. Just gets expensive when you want lots of figures I guess. Which is why I have so many scratchbuilt and converted figures I guess.

I'll happily start converting some 28mm inquisitor figures, hell most my post-apocalyptic figures I've been painting lately will work fine as NPCs.

Don't worry as I'll be GMing the only person power gaming will be me

What character(s) would you be wanting to play Dreamer? Gav has posted a rather nice scenario that I'd probably start us off with that's designed for people to use a single character each.

I have a Rogue (ish) Inquisitor(with power armour!), a Mutant follower, a psychic heavy daemon host, a rogue vindicar assasin and a magos biologis. All together they point up to around 1000 points but if you only wanted me to use one character I'd either use my inquisitor or my assasin. Hope that helps. Dreamer

nooo! points are bad in Inquisitor; should go for character instead :D
if its 28mm can count the power armour as a carapace to balance things?

I totally agree, the points system doesn't work at all, especially when there's anything other than combat ability being registered.

I may well let him have it as a much toned down power armour if the model looks right for it. It wont be comparable to space marine armour for sure (got to make some truescaled marines for INQ28).  but only if you can come up with some good backstory as to why you have a rare suit of non-astartes power armour!

I've already sorted the back story: My inquisitor was part of a Inquisitor lords retinue and they were al quite close (not emotionality but they were some of the best and to lose one would have been very distressing).  The Retinue was summoned to accompany a  grey knight counter attack to a daemon world.  They went and fought but the battle was close and casualties were high (these are strong daemons!) on both sides. The Inquisitor lord came into contact with a council of daemon princes and fell under the mass onslaught of psychic and material power. Filled with rage the retinue kicked ass destroying the daemon princes and sending them back to the warp from which they came. And as a last respect to his leader the Inquisitor took his power armour and buried him in a cave.  But the warp energy had manifested itself in his soul corrupting his judgement and boosting his psychic powers tenfold. In his later career he has been known to hire rogue assasins, mutants, dark mechanicus and create daemonhosts.

hope the backstory persuades you to let me keep my power armour.
