How did I get here...?

The digital Gods and Goddesses must have headed my call when I said I need to relieve my boredom.  The portal opened up and *bamph* here I am.  Not exactly what Google search string I cast to lead me to this forum of strange folks, but after looking around I am glad I found it.

I am 3D6 otherwise known as Dungeon Master...or just Martin.  I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons since I was 12 (roughly....20 years ago.)  Cut my teeth so to speak on 2nd edition rules, skipped 3 and 3.5 now working my way through understanding 4.  I am a dad now, and I am introducing it to my son, as my father did to me.

I live up in the Great Northwest (Washington State) and if you are ever in the neighborhood of Aberdeen, drop me a line so we can get a game going.

@Jogar_t_hutt - Unlikely, I just started using the name about a month ago when I started getting back into roleplaying....getting back into, yeah right.
@MortiS-the-Lost - I ended up finding the site through a Google search, I think for Dungeon Tiles...a section I see you have thoroughly discussed and have very talented people participating in.  I never thought about "fleshing" out the tiles I cut from posterboard...I hate it when an absolutely obvious idea just stares at you and then you go Doh! >.<

I started to play D&D about 16 years ago (substantially D&D Basic, Expert, Companion and Master sets, AD&D 2nd edition and AD&D 3,5), I'm glad to see here another D&D fan! And I think it's really a great thing sharing your passion with your son!

I think that the 50% of us arrived here because the Dungeon tiles!

General...although I am sure it was meant in jest, I actually took offense.  However, D&D is just one of my hobbies.  I love wargaming (Battletech, Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, Mage Knight, Star Wars Minis to name a few) as much as I do D&D.  It's just nice every once in a while to sit down and do something other than blow stuff and armies up.  Of course the best part of wargaming is building the landscapes and deathscapes.

They're definitely a varied lot on here.  There's a big emphasis on figures and tabletop wargaming.  I fall more into the catergory of RPG collector (because I'm never organised enough to play), but somehow many of us here collide together with HeroQuest (I'm a little into WHQ which sort of inspired the floor plans and jump started my side line Inked Adventures)  I like the fact that dungeon tiles is a hook here.  Lost and Damned does very well in image searches - Mortis excels in well labelled photos of lushly painted figures, as does the General B and all the others. Never worry about posting about things that may have already been said here or elsewhere.  I like this forum, because there's real sense of library of content, old and new threads alike.
