I’m about half way through the first one, they are pretty good. Set in a sort of cut down version of the Warhammer World as it was around the time of 3th edition. The latter part of the books are a Fighting Fantasy style adventure using HeroQuest-ish rules but D6 based (ie, no combat dice) and the 2nd and 3rd books have HeroQuest adventures for the game in them too!
PS: I ran Growl of Thunder the other night, it went pretty well but ended with 2 characters that had picked up the artefacts trying to sneak them south into the Empire rather than returning them to the Norse village. They ended up being lynched by a mob of angry Norse warriors and Dwarfs in a mountain pass ...
