Hello everyone! I'm 33 years old and only recently discovered gaming. I began working at a local game store in 2013 and became hooked. I've played video games my entire life but never got to do tabletop gaming due to a lack of interested friends (until recently). I'm mostly referring to RPG tabletop gaming because I never knew adventure board games (rpg-in-a-box style) and tabletop wargames even existed.
Since I began working at a game store I've become enamoured with board games, role-playing, and miniatures games. I've gotten deep into crafting terrain and game boards both for my D&D games (which I DM), and custom games/expansions.
I'm currently working on a complete reskinning of Super Dungeon Explore. My game stars the metal band GWAR, using minis from Dreamblade's old 90s "Rumble in Antarctica" game and some custom enemies. I've been making my own 3d game boards with GWAR themes, custom dice, and new tokens/chits and game cards. Nothing from the original Super Dungeon Explore is being used except the rules and gameplay. I've also stripped some of the more rpg-like rules (will, dex, con stats, etc) to simplify the game for my non-gamer friends (they will play a GWAR game, but not D&D).
I was brought here because I was putting together a print-and-play Space Crusade and Space Hulk game (as it seems many have done before me) using current 40k miniatures.
When I'm not gaming I am writing, performing, and recording music in my home studio and with my band Running For Daylight.
