Gundam Tank/ Leopard mkX

This is my gundam "Semovente" tank I picked up last year at a show.
Its a 1/35th scale kit and is possibly the best tank kit I've built , from the perspective of how it was produced.
Initially I thought it looked like an Israeli Merkava, but from a painting point of viev, sand grey is a boring colour to paint so I chose to dub it Leopard MkX, I painted it a NATO three tone scheme and put it in a German UN context, which works well.
The figures came with the kit, I chose to change the heads for resin replacements which work better.
Looking at this vehicle, I can see it being a sort of logical progression of how a Baneblade may look if it were to exist today, with 21st century design.
Hope you like this beast as much as I do

Re: Gundam Tank/ Leopard mkX

Awesome, at once very modern and realistic and very sci-fi at the same time. I see this as a near-future vehicle. Something the military of today have the technology to do, but havn’t … yet.
Lots of great detail, the map being held by the guy in the hatch is a great touch and crewman on the back with the head-phones in his hand as he looks off into the distance. Things like this give a model a great sense of narrative. The modern military marking like the UN and the German Cross and the UN flags makes it feel all the more real.

All round great job dude!

Cheers,

The details and markings in the kit just looked wrong, if I'd added them it would have looked tottally toy like.
I think addind the after market heads really helped, the facial sculpts just look more realistic than the kit heads, which is a shame because the rest of the figure was well detailed and I used them.
The map was a print of a sheet of maps a friend had, I coppied them ruthlessly, they're shrunken real maps apparently.
