From M48A3 Patton to Custom Warhammer 40k vehicle

Today I remembered I got two nice things: The vehicle design rules for Warhammer 40k and an old M48A3 Patton tank I bought 10 years ago (horribly painted and never completed), so I decided to merge the two things. You can find the rules to use a custom model in WH40k 3rd/4th edition inthis post.
This time I take some pictures!

This is the model:

As you can see it's TOO real to be used in the WH40k, where tanks usually have a different shape (covered tracks, trapezium pattern, sci-fi weapons...), so I must to do some changes...

1. Disassembled the model...

2. Time to invert upside-down the model and re-stick the wheels of the tracks according to the new direction of the model (I only used the big wheels... I never see WH40k tanks with different wheels)

3. Time to stick the tracks (one track must be sticked in the wrong way like I did... so when you will realize the error, you will fall in berserker rage and only after, you could fix it) This is the way the final model could be...

4. Bended the rear bumpers...

5. ... and fixed the missing pieces with protections in plywood and for the front: DAS and PVA glue

Now, how to modify this?

6. First of all I erased every non-sci-fi detail, and then, I opted for a moderate and sober choice, a twin-linked, long-barrelled Demolisher cannon (made with pens)

I hope to add some details, paint (and use) the model as soon as possible. I will update the post when I'll finish everything!

Looks like a fun project :)

Hm, for some reason I "see" this big orcface in the front - at the last picture. Those, uhm, lamps being the eyes, etc.

LOL! It's true!

Here the last stage of the project:

7. I started to paint the model when I realized something didn't work, so I opted to add something in "old Rhino style"

8. Finished! In the end I changed the main weapon for an even soberer choice, a twin-linked gatling long-barrelled mega blast missile launcher and I opted to don't add the twin-linked storm bolter too.

Awesome! I had my doubts about it looking like a Spacemarine vehicle from the first few pictures, but you've pulled it off and very well
