We are looking for play testers for Fields of war. If you are interested please send me an e-mail or pm with what army(s) that you want and I'll send the core rule book and the army's rules too you. The only requirement is that you send us a battle report when you are done. We will also take suggestions for new units, rules, missions, etc. from people who help play test.

Could you tell us a little more about your game?
what scale is it? what kind of mechanics does it use? what range of miniatures are you using for play testing?

the scale of models suggested for play is around 20mm, I don't really know how to describe it's mechanics other than moving formations of model averaging between 10-30 guys and shooting things with warmachines, monsters, and the occasional ship helping change the course of the battle in your favor , model wise so long as it fits on the bases described (especially since some of the bases don't even exist) it really doesn't matter since we don't have any models yet.

then may I make some suggestions ... Caesar Miniatures produce a small but growing range of 1:72 fantasy miniatures ![]() ![]() ![]() the boxes are only £5 each and most boxes give you an assortment of 30+ figures, what's more they can be supplemented with 1:72 medieval historical figures to give you all different kinds of armies - and other periods too, Caesar do Celts, Greek and Egyptians among others (and of course there are many other companies making 1:72 figures besides)

I like how those models look but they don't have the right feel to them. Also the orc models wouldn't get used very often anyway. If you do have models you'd think would be right i guess post them here.

they also do Dwarfs, Goblins and a mixed race 'Adventurers' set which contains a huge (for 1:72) Troll
![]() ![]() ![]() Have a look round their website, they do a huge variety of humans under their Historical ranges too To see more of the Troll from the Adventurers box and what I'm doing with my one take a look at This Thread

Ok i like the dwarfs, goblins, undead, Hittite Army, crusaders, Trojan Army, Persain warriors, and the European Knights, 15th Century. but they still don't have that feel to them. Also the trolls in Fields of War are around 7 feet tall, have three tusks(2 going up on the sides, 1 going down in the middle), pointed ears and noses, they are thin, don't have a set color, and stink to high heavens.

i use whatever comes to hand and happens to be on a 3/4" by 3/4" base. We don't have any official models yet so really just so long as it fits it works.

Do you have plans to make your figures then?
Do you have concept art for your races? - I can't seem to find anything on your blog aside for background and flavour text (which is interesting reading by the way)

A mate of mine has regularly dated worse.... I'm interested in the fact you have Gnomes as an army. Be interesting to see what you do for some of the more common other races. Must be hard to come up for something for Orcs that are not GW or Tolken in nature |

If it was 25 - 28mm I think they'd be more testers, since we could use existing models.

ok 2 things:
1-Uncle phil, what do you mean by "A mate of mine has regularly dated worse...." 2-3/4"X3/4" is around 20mm...I think I'll convert all of the base measurements to metric... and the reason I did that is because some of the base sizes don't exist. |
