Female Space Wolves

Hey guys,

In a failed attempt to introduce my wife to my hobby, i bought her a squad of grey hunters and then bought a set of female elf heads from a different site. I initially thought the heads were too small, however once i got them into place and got the models built, i now think they are just right. Let me know what you think, has anyone else had success with female conversions? It's a hard hobby to introduce women to when 95% of the models available are male.

Re: Female Space Wolves

look great! and did it work?

Those look good!

The nearest I've come to doing any female Space Marines was helping my house-mate ('CatBlack' here on the forums) do some minor weapon-swap conversions on her Sisters of Battle.
Fellow tLatD forum 'tallyho' also had a go at converting some female Space Marines for Space Crusade (have a look Here)

also there's a whole debate about female Space Marines which I won't get into here in this thread

As 'Sjeng' said your wife might prefer fantasy more over sci-fi, my girlfriend, female house-mate and 2 other female friends of mine all play as regulars in my Fantasy games - I find the girls like the role-play aspects of the hobby rather than the strategy side and they are also all excellent painters!
Another plus for fantasy games is there are a lot more female miniatures available for them

Hi,

just to stick my oar in here...I do prefer to play female characters and there is a sad lack of those in 40K,  I never thought of replacing space marine heads with female ones though!  Might have to give that a go myself.

As Mort stated, I do play mostly the fantasy based games but am used to having the occasional game of Space Crusade when the boys insist!  Sisters of Battle kick their ass's every time!  lol

Gotta say I do love sisters of battle, and I'm a guy.

I feel it's a shame we've been shafted with the crappy 'Codex in two parts' from White Dwarf for this edition.

Also the models are now expensive enough to bankrupt a small third world country for a viable army!

Re: Female Space Wolves

Loathe as I am to bump a thread almost a year old, but since the SoB white dwarf codex came out roughly 2 years ago now it's very good odds that their full book should be out soon. Either the tail end of this quarter for a Christmas release or early 1st quarter next year. Blood Angels got the white dwarf treatment and again roughly 2 years later they got their own book, and for most of 5th edition it was one of the best armies to play.

So have some faith, it'll happen when it happens.
