Evangelist Comic Strip about D&D

I found this hilarious.  It's completely serious anti gaming propaganda, but it made be howl!
(If you're part of middle America's bible belt, you probably won't be so tickled, so turn away now and subscribe to some God blogs...) ;)

I came across this whilst searching for the retro game "Dark Dungeons".  Apparently it shared it's name with a comic strip warning of the dangers of role-play:

(It's a shame that we're giving them the page hits but it was tricky to copy the different panels in one go.)

Enjoy!

Re: Evangelist Comic Strip about D&D

Coming from a body of people who seriously worship a reanimated corpse and believe that if you are bad a demon will f*** you up for eternity.. Hmmm I'm getting inspiration for a new campaign!

LMAO! The whole hearted ignorance and stupidity of the average christian organisation never ceases to amaze me, I'd seen a few frames from this floating around the web before (in fact one appears in Spoony's DragonStrike video review), but never read the whole thing. I despair of the poor gullible idiots who read that kind of thing and believe it.

It makes me sad to think of all the classic D&D products that may have been destroyed due to the kind of mass hysteria brought about by materials such as this

The trouble with christians is that can't distinguish between reality and fiction (the bible) and they assume everyone else is similarly afflicted.

Also check out this excellent parody, which is so good it's banned!!!

It's too hilarious! Unbelievable! I can't understand a lot of funny things in this comic strip, for example:

-Like mortis said: why don't they use dice?

-Like Mortis said again: why does the wizard became suddenly a cleric?

-Why do they use those uncomfortable 8" figures?

-How can Debbie fight against a zombie without a GM?

- Suddenly appears from the Warp or a B-movie, a typical "U.S.A. college-weared Idiot (maybe a football player), that speaks like a bigot priest"... why?

-Why does the priest is George Jefferson?

*grins at March's far-too-well-thought-through analysis* :D

Thanks for importing the strip, Mortis.  I adore the "Who will be eaten first?" strip!  Just brilliant! I might have to use that in argument some time, and pretend I'm really serious in believing in the Elder Gods and their mercilous minions.

Re: Evangelist Comic Strip about D&D

Ive seen that strip before, and the message it contains both scare me and make me mad at the same time.
I have an extremely low tolerancelevel for intolerance ^^ Bookburning doesnt rate high on my list either.

Thanks to the media and scaremongers several years ago roleplaying fell into a dark hole and almost considered the same thing as devilworship. Thanks to an awesome community and companies who never gave up the fight the hobby endured and prospered.

And yeah, that Cthulhu strip is wicked fun :)
