Well I'm sure by now you'll have seen pictures of the Trench Warfare table I've been working on for Triple Helix Wargames, but I've also been working on some smaller terrain pieces for them too - here just a few of them for the 40k tables
Eldar Webgate:
^This is a project Steve started a while ago to go with his Eldar Craftworld army but couldn't get looking quite how he wanted and since then had been sitting around at THW for a while. Steve handed the half finished piece to me and asked if I could do anything with it. I immediately saw some potential in it and set to work re-texturing the base, cut some chips out of the wraith-bone structure and sealed the whole thing in PVA glue. I then undercoated the whole thing black and gave the base a basecoat (stop looking for puns!) using some brown spay-paint (a Colours of War one I believe). The wraith bone was painted Snakebite Leather and built up through various proportional mixes of Snakebite Leather and Bleached Bone to pure Bleached Bone, A final highlight of Skull White was dry-brushed along the edges. I then took 2 cheap plastic gems (available at most crappy craft stores and a few good ones even) and painted the underside of them Ruby Red, followed by a layer of Red Gore and then Mechrite Red (note the reverse order of the shading due to the colour being seen from the other side of the transparent gems). I then glue these in place on the side of the wraith-bone structure and then sat down with copy of the Eldar Codex and painted some Eldar Runes onto the edge of the 'fins' using Darkangels Green.
^Several 40k buildings (note the dead Blood Angel)
^a Citadel Plastic Terrain Piece featuring a destroyed Rhino APC, Craters and some werid Trees. I didn't realize how weird the trees were until I started painting them, they had an odd alien texture to them and round-ish dome shapes in the bark. I was in an odd mood that day (it might have been the fumes from the varnish I'd been using that morning) and I suddenly deiced they'd look really good painted up as eyes! this gave the piece an whole new Alien/Chaos feeling to it ... dare your troops approach their objective in the wrecked tank under the inhuman gaze of the alien trees?
I like what you've done with the CoD plastics, looks like you've actually bothered to add some variation to the colours rather than making them really dull-looking but having one colour all over the entire building like so many people have done.
The alien wood is cool, the eyes are freaky as hell. One tiny little issue I've noticed though is that you have a white rimmed ultramarine shoulder pad and a blue helmet, if he's 1st company he should have a white helmet (or red if he's a sgt.), just thought I'd let you know before someone else does
Thanks guys! look out for more terrain pictures coming up soon!

well maybe the shoulder pad and helmet are from different marines, it looks like more than one died here
