Cyphertest sayin' hi

Cyphertest
Hello all,

Been lurkin' for the past couple of years and decided to finally sign up and start contributing.
I've been gaming since the late 80's/early 90's, starting with classic board games such as MB's Heroquest and TSR's Dragonstrike.  Quickly moved onto the black D&D basic box set (Zanzer's Dungeon) and upward and outward to all manner of table top games.
I've been returning to my roots of late and have become enamored with all the old Advanced Heroquest/Warhammer Quest stuff that I never got my hands on originally.

Welcome aboard!

Great to have another person who owns DragonStrike here on the forum  (hope you enjoyed my in-depth rant)

I look forward to reading your posts, enjoy the forum!

PS: Just out of interest (and this question goes out to all the other wandering monsters who've turned up recently too) what made you decide to join up and start posting?

Thanks a bunches!

A combination of things really; mainly I'm going to have a bunch of free time this Summer to work on stuff like painting minis and assembling/some dungeon terrain and props.  In addition I'm starting up a dungeon crawl game soon with some old gaming friends that haven't played since we ran AD&D 2nd Ed. back in the mid 90's, so I was looking for a simple yet engaging system to use.  Since we weened ourselves on games like Dragonstrike and HQ, I thought that a return to the old school would be fitting...also our attention spans aren't what they used to be, so minis, tokens, cards and props are a great way to keep us engaged.

I'm really just hoping to bounce some ideas off of everyone now and then.

Hola Cyphertest,

Watch out for being nostalgic for old games like HQ and WHQ!  It's a disease, I tell ye!  I swear Mortis is getting kickbacks from Ebay!
