Personally, my favourite book is 'The shamutanti hill' for its interesting atmosphere and gameplay. What about anyone else?

Mine is probably DeathTrap Dungeon, but I have a great fondness for the Warlock of FireTop Mountain too. I love the classic dungeon crawler feeling of both the books, full of monsters, traps and puzzles - for me that's what the best adventures are made of

Hi Everyone, mmm. That is a hard question, here are a few of my faverates. Lets see. I'd have to say
Number 40 Dead of Night - was the 1st one I ever had. Number 12 Space Assassin - 2nd one I ever had. This is the book hooked. I had to rebuy it year later as my 1st copy fell to peases. I played/ read it that much. Number 24 Creatue of Havoc - It had such a good back story, ok all be it made no sence when I started playing but as I carried on reading I became more and more engrossed in the book. Then one day I deied or turned the wrong way in maze and came to a sticky end. I also really enjoyed the Troll Tooth Wars Novel and follow up ShadowMaster. I never could find The first novel Deamon Stalker. I also picked up all of the Zagor Novels as well. Book 49 Siege of Sardath - I enjoyed this book up untill I got lost in the maze of chambers and pathways. I rember re- reading the same section over and over again. 54 Legend of Zagor FF game book. The one basted around the 1995 boardgame. (I'm not sure if I rember correctly, but the board game came with a viedo Tape.) All the Sorcery books. They were cool I never finished them, as yes you have guest it by now I got killed / lost, deep in a D.... Ahh haar Mee Heartiees. YOu thought this old sea dog WAS going to say Dungeon.., you bee close but no cigar. That Time I got lost or killed in a Desert, book 3 . As you can see I tendead to get lost or died a lot. I really don't like dungeons that much becase of their mazes. Both the vampire books 38 and 58 valut of the , and revenge of the vampire. I think 38 valt of the vamper was the only book I ever acctualy was able to finish. Or was it revenge of the vampire. I can not rember But I know it was one those too. All The firetop Moutin books. The trial of the princes mega rear to find books. I still have my copy though. Both the books are some of the only FF and GamesWorkshop things I have anymore :(. I am super glad I have them though. A friend form school gave them to years ago. He also told me about how all the gamebooks ( the origal Puffin Books with green spines.) had a differcalty level system to them. He then explained to me and showed me some of the different levels. The colour coded back cover. For example light blue was ment to be easest or shortest to compleat read. then the shades of light green and read, leading into the darker colours. I suppose I liked and enjoyed mostly all of them. 59 Curser of the Mummy was really fun, and I found it super hard. It was also the only gamebook in entire sireries to be coloure coded Grey. I suppose Grey = Super difficult. 45 Spectral Stalkers I also found difficult too. Its back cover was Dark Green. The books also helped me larn to read, and roll dice An interesting bit of information: When the Curser of the Mummy was re-printed re-raleasted. I.E. Not the orrigal Puffin ed. The editors and or new publishers, made changes to the book to " make it easer for readers". Anyway if Like me you can not find or do not have orginal book anymore also me !. Have a look at this website: http://www.gamebooks.org/contributions/ffw27_changes.html It has list of the changes so that anyone can play (read) the book as it was ment to be. |

It's the Captin again here to correct a mistake it my preavase post last post befor this one. (Or if I have made a time ship n sail the timly seas back again.) Then tis time I predict that I shall may still have time... Darn I just saw my post go up and it still has the mistake.)
Correction : Spectral Stalkers back cover was Dark Blue. The dark Green book I was thinking of was Book 28 Phantomes of fear. Also good artwork too scratchy looking. |

Ah yes, Deathtrap Dungeon was reaaly fun! I like all Steve Jacksons Sorcery series. It has great gameplay and the oppurtunity to learn spells is simple enough !
