Barak Tor-Barrow of the Witch Lord

guzzi
I am working my way through the original Quest Book, converting each quest for my own solo play amusement. Have reached Barak Tor, and must admit I cannot remember ever actually playing this quest. It would have been about 20 years ago, so my mind grows dim! I cannot see a clear way through to the Witch Lords Lair, X marks the spot, on the quest map. The Heroes can get as far as the empty room, by the top centre passage, then no further towards the centre. If they go right along the top left passage, stumbling over those spear traps, they reach another dead end. So, its a matter of the Wizard casting Pass Through Rock on someone, but what are the odds of the recipient getting into the correct place to find the secret door south of the double blockage in the top centre passage, to let the others through? Me, I am no mathematician, so dont ask me to work it out. Am I missing something? Answers on a postcard to - - -

Just been looking over the map, yes the only way is though the secret passage - but it can of course be opened from both sides, so I don't think it's a problem

Well, now, you say "it can be opened from both sides", but is this so? We have always played it that secret doors can only be opened from the room or passage where the symbal  is on the map. Surely that is the idea of a "secret door".

Recently found out that my rule book is first edition, later book states "secret doors are found on either side of the wall being searched". So thats cleared up.
