We actually had another problem concerning the wizard.
Because we all know the 7 spell lores from HQ (4 from the basic game and 3 from one of the expansions) by heart,
The GM allways knew wich spell lore and the spells you had as soon as you casted one of them (when you casted fireball, for example) and could adapt his strategy to this (and he always did)!
Of course, we already made extra spell lores ourselves,
but hey, we make them together, so the same problem occured also with these!
Now we do it this way: all the spell sets are layed out in stacks on the table and the GM leaves the room!
(mostly to go and get refreshments, very important!)
meanwhile, the wizard player and elf player choose there spells this way:
The wizard may choose (unless indicated otherwise by houserules or artifacts) 9 spells.
He chooses a stack and shuffles it and then takes one card. This he can do 9 times.
He may choose to take whole stack as well, but doesn't need to.
This way he can have only one or two cards of one college and a whole set af another.
The same applies to the 3 spells of the elf.
This way the GM can not be certain of what could be the next spell and has to stay on his guard!
Photoshop and Illustrator are my best friends, for they can make anything happen for tiles and cards!
