It has been a long time, I am here to give you and others a way to open .zip files on your i devices, which is to use the free program 'app' application called :
ZipApp Free . Check out this post I made about opening zipped folders for portable devices.

On the post I listed a few different programs / applications that are able to open different types of zipped files or folders.
