I decided to pick back up my paint brush and attempt miniatures again. To start off with I focused on my figures from Dark World and will later work on HeroQuest and then D&D Castle Ravenloft minis.

*I have painted a few of the shown models many years ago using ornament acrylic paints (which is why some may look like they contain sparkles or are glossy).

I am still using basic craft acrylic paints (but this time not the holiday versions of colors) as well as a variety pack of brushes. Once I'm feeling confident on my painting and if I get more into it I will most likely start buying the name brand mini paints.

After taking pictures of the "completed" minis I am noticing a lot of areas needing touched up. So right now I'm working on the Heroes of Dark World and I'm making sure to take my time and force myself to use a more detailed brush to get closer on the edges.

I'm also still trying to get the hang of dry-brushing and using a dark wash (with consistant results) afterwards.

The up-close shots;

 ^I really like how the Sorcorer's item turned out

 ^The manticore was my first mini with blended/bleeding colors together

 ^The Ogre was the first mini done in a dark wash

 ^The mummy was done in antique gold base, antique white on top, with a dark wash to finish

 ^Out of the orcs, the left one was later on and I like how I changed up the hilt color of the weapon

Anyhow, just thought I would post these up and grab any input from anyone that wants to share. I will hopefully finish up the heroes in the next week and get them on the page also. Then I'm off to my HeroQuest minis.
