I don't want you to be discouraged, its just they'd probably think that San Francisco as super crazy and advance (so it might just fit in). I'll do Dizne Land as an example of how they tend to think:
Dizne Land, and its sister cities, are some of the most powerful city-states in the whole world. Within their iron gates and bars are a land of technological wonder: flying animals, walking robots, talking iron carriages, and working restrooms. Dizne Land is also one of the holiest places in the world. Around the year 237 a wandering band took shelter in Dizne Land. While going through its many catacombs, they discovered an endless room filled with countless metal wheels. When they put these metal wheels in a device, and after powering it up, they discovered the that they were records of a great god: Mik-e Mose. They spent have spent years watching and recording all that has happened to this god of the Old Ones and eventually discovered that his father, Wolt Dizne, wanted the world to be at peace. The tribe quickly took on the ancient title "Mik-e Mose Klobe", and went to spread the news of Wolt Dizne and Mik-e Mose far and wide. They then set to work restoring the great temple to its former glory, a process not yet complete, and are the world leaders in robotics and science because of it. It it estimated that almost half of the world are members of the Mik-e Mose Klobe, and they are discovering and restoring more and more temples dedicated to their patron god every decade.
The only major complaint I have is that they don't know what wiped out the old ones, don't know what japan or china is, and would propably call it Chaina Towne instead of San Fransico(maybe on maps they'd put Son Francesko).
