In Tyranid Attack's rule-book's 'Additional Force List' section (which basically allows you to re-use your Space Crusade models in Tyranid Attack) the Chaos Android's weapon is listed as a 'Doom Blaster' (whatever that is)

However in the equivalent 'Game Variants' section of the Advanced Space Crusade rulebook the Chaos Android's weapon is listed as an Autogun

... and of course the newer 40K version of Chaos Androids - Necrons are armed with very similar looking weapons called 'Gauss Flayers'

to me the gun the Chaos Androids carry looks like some kind of energy weapon rather than an Autogun (it has no ammo feed or magazine and is much larger than most Autoguns) - so I'd say the 'Doom Blaster' is some kind of energy weapon

- and it could be speculated that 'Doom Blaster' is a 'nick name' for the Gauss Flayer given by imperial troops during early encounters with such weapons (which of course opens up the further debate of whether Chaos Androids are mistaken accounts of Necrons, Necrons that have been corrupted by Chaos or Robots built by Chaos Squats and/or renegade tech-priests)

on the Autogun side of the debate is the fact that Orks have Autogun-like weapons modified for incredibly high rate of fire called Mega-Blasters and the Chaos Android guns do bare some resemblance to the Reaper Auto-Cannons carried by Chaos Space Marine Terminators
