See, other people think so too! go on paint the tartan you're a good enough hobbyist, you just need to take a little time over it!
The red you've already painted the kilt is a good base for the tartan, painting green lines in one direction and then blue lines in the other should give you a convincing tartan like pattern
... and now that Sjeng mentions it the shield does look a little plain
anyway apart from that - excellent miniature with a great paint job to match as always from you
