Ive started some work on two other modulesystems now, one for dungeons and one for caves. Hopefully Ill be able to show some of it laterish.. when Ive made more progress.
As Ive written elsewhere, Ive also bought a bunch of miniatures to use, instead of the standard papertokens. The fiddly part of painting them is the really hard part though :/
Yesterday as I was doing some work on the caves, I think I found a really simple and cheap way of making stalagtites ^^
Stalagtites being the pointy rockthings on the ground in caves, being created by mineralwater dripping from the roof.
Take a piece of ordinary household foil, the stuff you use for cooking. Crush it up a bit, press it against a table so one part goes really flat, and just mold the other bit as pointy as you want. Its really easy molding it, and it stays really solid once youve crushed it enough.
After that I just coated it with a mix of plaster and water, to give it a better texture, based it black - and then for the rest of the paints and stuff.
It sure beats trying to sculpt from other materials - but I might experiment a bit with the coating, to make it more durable.
