thanks guys!

The original layout was something that Steve and Tom had designed with a 40k or Warmachine scenario in mind, the bunkers are supposed to act as command points for a large artillery piece that would sit in the clear space at the back of the table, so I guess it's more an artillery emplacement than a trench system really.
I would like to do a more traditional zig-zag trench system with support trenches and such, with tank traps and fox holes ect. but I fear this would lead to less interesting games because, it would be far to easy to defend ... after all it was trenches like that which brought the 1st World War to a near stalemate - que more historically aware gamers correcting me for making such a generalized statement - yes I am aware heavy machine guns, the invention of tanks and the use of aircraft for reconnaissance also played a part, but I think we can all agree that a game in which you send squads of men 'over the top' and have them shot to bits by heavy weapon fire from behind hard cover on the other side of the table again and again wouldn't make for a particularly exciting game for either player

I've tried avoid adding too much to the board that would tie it to any particular game, setting or period, thus there are no dead Imperial Guardsmen, wrecked German Tanks or Cygnar Warjack remains used as detailing. the idea being that the table can be used for any game, Sci-fi, Historical, Steam punk or post apocalyptic that you might want to play in a trench warfare setting
