I see what you getting at with the overlapping plates down the spine yea ... the old Citadel Hormagaunts from the 90's are a much better candidate for converting into Giger-esque Xenomorphs though all you'd need to do is replace the arms with the 'hand-ed' ones from a Genestealer

Hmm a nutshell like brown sounds interesting, it's not one of the colours I considered for this mini but I might just go with it. I can do black pretty well, but the one in the Painted Example picture on Scotia-Grendel's website is painted in shiny black and white but I've got to say I'm not that keen on it.

Details never show that well in photos of unpainted miniatures, the head is somewhat like that of a deep sea fish, with large overlapping fangs, I've got a second set of these to get painted up at and I'll probably be doing some conversion work on them, but the first ones will remain 'as stock'
