What about something like:
..I hear the groom is so geeky that he has named the tables after planets in the Star Wars universe..
.. so those on table Alderon may want to find an excuse to leave early..
..or perhaps do a whole long section of the speech in Klingon with a humorous translation?
I just did a best man speech at my brothers wedding. It went pretty well considering the two weeks notice
. It really helped to just run over what I was going to say a ton of times and then use a card with basic headers to remind me what to say. Ending with a quote always goes down well.
