Hi
I started wargaming back in the late 60's using H G Wells 'Little Armies' rules... very Edwardian and Empire! During the early 70's it became ECW and Napoleonics with the availability of lead minatures by companies such as Hinchcliffe and Minature Figurines. When Minature Figurines produced the first LOTR 25mm figures in the mid 70's it coincided with the arrival of D&D from the USA so fantasy gaming took off. I discovered Games Workshop at a Toy Convention in the late 80's when they were launching the first version of Warhammer (I think!). As by now I was a Dad I got it and started playing it with my son, which lead to Rogue Trader, Space Hulk, 40K, Man O War, Necromunda, Mordheim etc, etc, etc.... In fact the only game I've never enjoyed is the 40K Epic.... I don't know why, just never got on with it. When my son gave up wargaming I gave all the figures etc to a friend in Germany as I had lost interest as well. Heresy I know, it was a 'phase' I was going through. But when I was made redundant last summer I bought myself Warhammer & 40K again and enjoyed painting the figures.... and then I saw 3rd Edition Space Hulk... so here I am! Here's one of the 'old' 40K battle pictures.
