so after my second mauling by chaos in as many club nights (the first time i was outclassed. the second i took it almost to a draw and in the end was satisfied with a narrow victory result for my opponent) iv been thinking about twin linked weapons.

what gotme thinking was the combi bolter chaos use vs the storm bolter. on a vehicle the combi bolter is subperb vs the storm bolter. easily a more useful weapon. on a trooper not so but still better than a normal bolter.  To be fair im pretty much okay with the concept of twin linked but only if the two weapons are actually touching. i dont think the tarantula robot sentries should count as twin linked because there is (in scale terms) about three feet between the muzzles. firing them at a squad of 12 fire warriors a hundred yards away would easily shred them more than a single weapon. i also dont think having two pistols of the same type should be twin linked either as pistols are designed to be fired one handed. id be more happy (but it would be more complicated) to see the second pistol be fired at -1 BS.

thankfully no one has mentioned the side sponsons on a LR being twin linked (probably to favour as usual the darlings of GW the Citadel Marines) or other sponsoned weapons.

just my two cents.
