speaking purely as some one who is on the reciving end of troll slayer attacks and having lost many monsters and hero's (3 trolls in a row at one point thanks to Rob's Troll Slayer ) to these little red haired bastards I'd say they don't die easily if at all!
on a more balanced note, I don't think players should be rewarded for having their troops die (even ones with death wishes) how ever this is a pretty good idea, that just need a few minor tweeks, my main thought is that you should only get the chance if the Troll Slayer dies an honorable death (after all a Troll Slayer shot in the back by a Goblin is not going to have heroic tales told about him)
so here's my suggestions
- the roll should be made based on rolling under the Dead Slayer's EXP on D100
- the roll should only be made if the Slayer was put out of action in Close Combat againt a miniature with the 'Large Target' rule
or a Hero
-the roll can only be made directly after the game in which the slayer died
- GM's may make exceptions of this and modifi the roll (eg if the Slayer was out numbered 10-1)
- The reduction should be D6+2
- this should only work for Troll Slayer Heroes (Troll Slayer Hired Swords are already the cheapest in the game)
