stuff I'm working on

Hallo tLatD!

as its well into the new year I'd thought I'd put up a little progress report on what masters I'm working on. Hopefully some of these will be available to purchase sometime in the next couple of months depending on when I can get hold of some new mould rubber.

1/3900

Various Klingons: back row- B'rel class (also useable as a K'vort in 1/7000 going to do a 'wings up' version), QuD class (aka insurection class)
front row- D'ama class(aka predator D4), K'tinga, Kl'sarza (Swiftwind D16-ish).

Okinawa Class, early stages of a Connie.

1/7000

Excelsior (Lakota variant and 'excelsior B' type in time), 'Lantree' type miranda with full miranda rollbar as an extra (will do saratoga and Bozeman conversion parts too), Vor'cha MM with some work to acurise it a bit, very early WIP Ambassador.

:) 1/7000 dominion, cardassian and romulans are also going to be appearing soon.

I've also experimented in sculpting miniatures in 15mm (1:100) scale, namely a space marine and a couple of imperial stormtroopers. Not done yet but they're an interesting experiment.

I've got tones of new starship miniatures to be painting up so they'll get on in dribs and drabs. Also have some of the new space wolves which are really quite nice, though some of the hairdoos are a bit silly even for GW, the wolf guard termies are very cool though.

Think my new years resolution is going to have to be changed to 'finish some fucking projects this year!'

Re: stuff I'm working on

Wow you’ve really got into the whole Starships thing recently. The Star Trek sculpts are looking awesome as always, can’t wait to see some finished painted up.
Cool, your thinking of selling some casts in the future, how will you be going about it? And are you not worried about copyright on the Star Trek ships? I’m pretty sure Paramount won’t take to kindly to them. Still awesome models and if you do get round to casting a few, I’ll probably buy some and paint some up as gifts for the Star Treks among my friends and relatives.

15mm stuff should prove interesting I think, but I think I’ll encourage you to  finish off a few of your 2008/2009 project before you start any 2010 ones …

I've got some new mould rubber and resin on its way to me so hopefully I'll get some done soon.

There are tones of people making star trek ships in various scales and paramount don't seem to care. I'm only selling them small scale, just trying to cover the costs of making the moulds so I can make my own fleets really.

Cool any news on the minis you mentioned here: http://n2.nabble.com/Miniatures-Casting-td3618834.html#a3618834
The cheap modular dungeon bits would be a great project to get going and easy to sculpt and cast, plus I think there might be a lot of interest from people like Me and Billiam

Re: stuff I'm working on

No progess in physical parts, I don't think it'd take me to long to make some stuff up once I'd got hold of some textured plastic though. How interested would you be on some walls compatable with the plastic dungeon parts we already have? or would you rather just have a new set entirely?

Re: stuff I'm working on

I’d be interested in anything that supplements my (and your’s) existing dungeon system, so new wall types and arches are more than welcome

But if you want to sell them to other people, I’d go with something semi-compatible …
Make the walls the same height and length, and with bevelled ends but a little thicker and with smaller doors, and with a flat (not pegged) bottom so it works with our sets, but can be also used on it own for people who don’t have the same set.

I’ve also had a few ideas about how to go about making a whole new dungeon set based on a wall and pillar system that works to a similar 2” grid pattern.
I’ll draw up some designs some time soon and get them posted

You two sound like you got quite the schemes in motion, and when you manage to get some parts done for the dungeon system you two own, I will so be looking forward to seeing them in action (so to speak, I mean, how much action does a wall [non-sentient ones] get up to?)
As for the Star Trek models, they look amazing dude! Will definitely get Panda onto here to see these as he is a major Trek fan. Are these fleets purely for collecting and display use, or are they to be used with an exsisting game/rule system?
If so, I'd love to see the stats for the Prometheus. =D

We've been talking about doing dungeon stuff for ages, would probably be a good thing to sell on ebay really.

Cheers for that I'm really pleased with my modeling recently. I'm more a collector than a gamer but I've got my own work in progress rule set but the 1/3900 models could be used with the old FASA rule set or the starfleet battles rule set.

The Prometheus is an awesome ship!
