how big should an army be?

General Biakal
now i know its best to get ur HQ and 2 troops choices first then build up in 500pt blocks but what size should i aim for? iv got 1500pts at the moment but is that all ill need? are 2000 battles common and normal or is 1500 the "norm"? please bear in mind im sort of on my own in some ways as i dont have a mentor and im not in a club. so this kind of stuff is kind of trial and error.

For 40K 1500pts is about the right size of army. Having more than 1500pts of course allows you to change your army composition from game to game.

Higher points cost games can and do happen but in my experiance the rules work best at 1500pts.

I prefer bigger games, of 2000pts or more. but i like to have it all. me and some of my army mates in the past like the bigger battles. when i was at club it was more competive gaming than fun.

however iv done a few 500pts skirmishes at GW in Salisbury and i do enjoy them.

I would like to do a necromunda skirmish using shaffers last chancers.

Game on.
