dread(in the water)fleet

ok i get the idear that dreadfleet isnt as good as GW would like it to be, as today i happened past an independent dealer today and they have 30 of them & selling them off at -15% RRP& i know trowbridge toyshop is doing the same & selling them for £50 insted of the £70 price tag

1. all in one with no support
2. forced a small fan-base by being limited
3. expensive
4. followed Space Hulk, expecting people to show the same love for models people could only use in one game?

All in all, it's to be expected.
Mankinds first mistake; Questioning why those around him, are dying.

to expand Point 4, Space Hulk has a plethora of nostalgic gamers out there ... both previous editions are amongst GWs All Time Best Games .. Man 'o' War? less so (i'm surprised Uncharted Seas sells so well!) as it was always a clunky counter-ridden mess, rather like Dreadfleet!

5. pretty mediocre miniatures (i do like the Squid & Ghost Ship) & naff terrain (Skuuuullz!). The mat in the game? absolutely lovely tho!

6. lack of freedom; each scenario dictates which ships you use and a lack of points / balancing system limits making up your own scenarios / games

Predictable outcome? http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n2.nabble.com/Dread-Fleet-Video-td6805530.html

People who have bought the game seem to like it on the whole, but for a company so obsessed with being sorting the wheat from the chaff *coughspecialistgamescough*, I find it pretty damning that this half thought-out release even happened.

It's obvious that it's not just the lawyers at GW that don't have their heads on straight.
